Georgia Certified Chamber Executive

In 1993, GACCE (then GCCEA) began looking at ways to enhance public awareness and credibility of the Chamber profession.  One of the items selected to accomplish this was the establishment of a designation which exemplifies excellence and professionalism of Georgia's Chamber Executives.  This designation would be based upon experience, service to GACCE, training/continuing education and personal achievement.  It was never the intention of this program to replace any other professional designation.  The Georgia Certified Chamber Executive (GCCE) program was started to strengthen career development, provide an opportunity for personal recognition, and measure individual progress.

Designation Process

Any Georgia Chamber Executive or Senior Staff Member (Vice President or above) with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Chamber management is eligible to apply for the designation.  Executives relocating from other states must have been employed by a Chamber in Georgia for a minimum of 24 months before submitting a GCCE application.

If you have already achieved the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designation, and you have met the minimum of five years of experience as a Chief Paid Executive and have been employed by a Chamber in Georgia for a minimum of 24 months, you may apply and recieve the GCCE designation by paying the application fee.

The program is a 4-part process:

  1. Application - applicant must complete the program application and supply supporting documentation for each question that applies.
  2. Essay - applicant must prepart a 250-word or more essay describing your views on your performance as a Chamber Executive or Senior Staff Member.
  3. Recommendations - applicant must provide letters of recommendation from each of the following:
    • Current Chamber Board Chairman
    • A Past Chamber Chair
    • Three (3) GACCE Peers
  4. Interview - applicant must be available for a conference call with the GCCE committee, if needed by committee.

The applicant must provide the above information electronically.  A $100.00 processing fee should be sent to the Executive Director of GACCE.  The Certification Committee may request additional information from the applicant to clarify specific criteria.  Upon approval by the Committee, the applicant will be awarded the GCCE designation at the Executive Leadership Conference.
